Renewable materials processing infrastructure
High-pressure autoclave system
In our 0.6 L autoclave system (max. 350°C & 350 bar) we conduct biomass liquefaction experiments (e.g microalgae, sludge, bio-waste) and study mechanics and kinetics of different chemical reactions in closed and inert gas atmospheres together with distinct analytics of the reaction products.
Photobioreactor
The picture shows the research photobioreactor installed at our institute, which is used for the experimental production of microalgae.
Ion-exchanger testing facility
The ion exchanger testing facility allows us to examine different materials for use in wastewater treatment. The system consists of three separate ion exchanger columns made of plexiglas (inner diameter 120 mm), which can each be filled with approx.
ILS-Pilotplant
With the mobile pilot plant, the ILS process for nitrogen recovery can be tested in various operating environments. We developed the ion exchanger loop stripping process (ILS) in the ReNOx-project.
