My name is Florian Schinnerl, I was born in Graz, Austria, and I completed my studies in process engineering with a focus on plant and process technology at the TU-Graz. In the course of my master's thesis, I dealt with iron production from siderite, the iron-bearing carbonate from Erzberg, using hydrogen as a reducing agent.

Since August 2021, I am now working as a research assistant at the Chair of Process Engineering and am concerned with the direct carbonation of carbon dioxide with primary and secondary raw materials. For this purpose, I investigate the CO2 uptake capacity of minerals and by-products of other processes in our laboratory reactor and can thus draw conclusions about the suitability of the feedstocks for an industrial carbonation process.
