Verena Wolf-Zöllner

Verena Wolf-Zöllner is a Senior Lecturer at the Chair of Process Engineering and leads the research group Fluid Separations.
Her research focuses primarily on absorption processes, particularly on the characterisation of mass transfer internals and the modelling of hydraulics and mass transfer in packed columns. Her work contributes to environmentally relevant applications such as carbon capture and maritime exhaust gas cleaning.
Alongside her research activities, she is strongly committed to the further development of engineering education, with a focus on innovative, competence-oriented teaching formats. She integrates problem-based learning, digital and asynchronous teaching methods, and generative AI to provide students with a solid disciplinary foundation while fostering the critical and responsible use of modern technologies.
