Miscellaneous Information

Verena Wolf-Zöllner studied Industrial Environmental Protection and Chemical Engineering at Montanuniversität Leoben from 2005 until 2010 with a specialisation in plant and process technology. During her master’s she worked on enhanced oil recovery at Rohölaufsuchungs AG with a focus on improving the injection behaviour of flood water with the usage of complexing agents. For her exceptional performance during her studies she was honoured with the Rektor-Platzer Ring. After her studies Verena started as research scientist at the Chair for Process Technology and Industrial Environmental Protection with a focus on the examination of mass transfer equipment and the corresponding absorption behaviour. As part of her work the packing column DN450/DN600 was constructed. Verena finished her PhD in 2014 with the title “Development of a hydraulic model for a novel grid structured packing” in cooperation with RVT Process Equipment and under the supervision of Prof. Markus Lehner. In 2016 and 2017 Verena joined and supported the Separation Research Program at the University of Texas at Austin as guest researcher. Now, Verena is Senior Lecturer at the chair, runs the Team Fluid VT as group leader and gives lectures on wastewater treatment, energy and plant balances as well as separation processes.
